看時鐘

仿傚Blue’s Clue在backyard 做了個Alphabet Train

大約兩個禮拜前發現Ethan會看時鐘了
而且連那種只有畫十二個刻線沒寫數字的時鐘
都說的出幾點幾分

還會唱一首口訣歌
Read the short hand first,
Read the short hand first,
We know what time it is,

然後開始數時針喃喃自語
“The short hand is not “8” yet, so we go back to “7”.

Count by five with the minutes,
Count by five with the minutes,

“5-10-15-20-25-30…”
然後再細數出幾分鐘

我還記得
小學二年級時才考看時鐘耶
而且那時覺得好難ㄡ

本來就很會認字的 Ethan
冰箱上貼的行事曆
大小事都瞞不過他
現在會看時間
更騙不了他了
晚上如果不到八點半就要他去睡覺
還會數著分針抗議說
“There’s eight more minutes!”

最近常跟媽咪說
“I’ll marry you when I’m twelve.”
接著他用手指數了數
“Seven more birthdays before I marry you!”
我說 “But I’ll be old by then…”
於是他問 “How old are you?”
我說 “34”
於是手指又拿來數了數
“You’ll be 41. That’s not old; you will be beautiful!”

以智力而論

已經不能再把他當小孩了呢
