Ethan的二年級

今天是Ethan二年級的最後一天

明天的結業式後

小朋友期待的暑假就正式開始了

在過去的一年中

Ethan在學業上的表現仍然不需要我們操心

有時候我也都很好奇

Ethan每天回家基本就是看電視

從六點開始直到睡覺

幾乎沒看過他寫作業(因為都在after school做完了)

除了看電視外大概就是每天五到十分鐘的練琴

我真好奇是不是學校的考試是有關電視節目

要不然他拿什麼去考試呢?

今天Ethan抱回一堆成績單與獎狀

現在就來看看Ethan這一年來的成果吧

總統獎(President's Education Award)

爸爸媽媽小時候拿的是縣長獎和議長獎

Ethan竟然拿的是總統獎

還有一封由白宮發出歐巴馬親筆簽名的祝賀信

三年級的數學成績單

Ethan跳過二年級直接上三年級的數學

表現仍是極為優秀

其他科的綜合成績單還沒發

智力測驗
(1) InView Cognitive Assessment

分成兩部分- 分析(Analogies)與數理(Quantitative Reasonings)

Ethan這兩部分都達到百分比(percentile)九十六

(2) Raven Test

Raven Test是一種衡量資優的IQ test
Ethan的Raven raw score 達到了47    相當於95%

Montgomery County的標準是
只要InView Test超過百分之八十
Raven raw score超過百分之七十五
就有資格在三年級時申請就讀四五年級資優班(gifted and talented, GT program)

TerraNova Test (TN)

TerraNova Test是一種全國性衡量學業方面的考試

全美國除了加州外幾乎是全國採用

Ethan 在閱讀(Reading)與語文(Language)上雖然優秀

但是比不上他在語文技巧(Language Machanics), 數學 (Math)與數學計算(Math Computing)方面的成績

Ethan在這三項所有的考試全部都達到了滿分

Ethan的老師 Ms. Mathur 給了Ethan這樣的評語:
Dear Mrs. Chen,

I don't think I have words to describe how much I have LOVED having Ethan in my class this year!! I really have developed a deep bond with him. Ethan is such an honest, polite, hardworking and appreciative young boy. He's going to turn into quite the gentleman! He hugs me every morning, and brings a smile to my face. He's so special to me. I will never forget him!

Ethan has really grown academically this year. I know that he has excelled in math and his writing has really improved as well. He loves reading and his comprehention skills are very strong. I think he will be very succesful in third grade. I know that next year reading and writing will be a big push, so I wanted to suggest to you that he read a lot over the summer and also do some writing. I don't want him to be overwhelmed when he gets into to third grade.

Thank you so much for your appreciation. I hope to have Nathan in my class someday too! I will really miss Ethan. I will have a talk with him about how he can definitely visit me next year!

父親節還沒到

已經幫我準備好禮物了

每天早上和我等校車的時候

都一定會說許多甜言蜜語

像是我愛你啦, 我要永遠和你在一起啦

上車前還會特地告訴我 - 我在學校會很乖
