大華府冬季餐廳周

本周(2/16 - 2/22)是大華府冬季餐廳周
有一百八十家的高級餐廳共襄盛舉
提供午餐三道菜$20 晚餐三道菜$35的特價
有興趣的朋友可以去嘗嘗

由於上周六跑去吃了Rio Grande
這周六又約了要剪頭髮
這次的餐廳周大概就只好放棄了
除非能找到children friendly的餐廳摟

情人節午餐

情人節當天
大夥兒去了Washingtonian的Uncle Julio's (formerly "Rio Grande")吃墨西哥捲餅
香軟現烤的 tortilla
捲入炭烤的牛肉、豬肉和包著培根的巨蝦
加上cheese和guacamole
連小朋友們都吃的津津有味
Ethan連吃了好幾片的 tortilla



餐廳旁有一個湖
好多的野雁、鴨子和海鷗
媽咪事先準備了些麵包屑讓小朋友餵食
白色的海鷗 (好大一隻)
一看有人準備餵食
馬上一大群的靠了過來
甚至還從uncle Mike手上直接刁走麵包
真是一點都不怕人
反而是媽咪很怕這群過分hyper的鳥會攻擊小朋友
好在沒有...
小朋友都很開心
等天氣暖些再來吧

A Note to Tooth Fairy

Ethan還在換牙中
一天上學前媽咪發現Ethan下排門牙旁一顆牙已晃的厲害
心想等放學回家後再幫他拽下來
想不到放學時那顆牙已不見了

Ethan說早上上閱讀課時牙就掉了
Ms. Hurdle讓他去給學校護士處理
護士讓他漱漱口
並給了他一個小盒裝那顆牙
然後他說走回教室時
手晃的太大力
那顆牙竟飛出小盒
剛好掉到暖氣出風口裡
(言談中還露出極懊惱的神情
直說: “I should have taped the cap to the box...”)

Ethan說他找來Ms. Martinez幫忙撿
但Ms. Martinez也搆不到
Ms. Martinez說應該找工友伯伯幫忙
於是Ethan問媽咪
知不知道工友伯伯幾點會到學校
可不可以找他幫忙撿
(媽咪當然是含混的糊弄了過去
為這種白目差事煩工友伯伯
工友伯伯不氣死才怪)

隔天Ethan就沒再提了
媽咪也壓根忘了這事

約兩週後
在Ethan 的backpack裡看見寫了這張Ethan給tooth fairy的字條:
"Dear Tooth Fairy,

I lost my tooth down the classroom heater, will you give me a present?

Sincerely, Ethan"

媽咪看了真是笑岔了氣
因為Ethan用的是很正式的格式寫了出來
字跡也很工整
連sincerely都用上了 (雖沒拼對 但誠意到了)
看來是真想要這份禮物呢

隔天早
Ethan收到tooth fairy補送的禮物
是生平第一隻手錶
而且是指針型的
還有夜光功能

Ethan開心極了
戴上手錶
一一比對家裡的每個時鐘
還問為什麼每個鐘時間都不一樣
媽咪說本來就會有一兩分鐘的差距
沒關係的

Ethan於是問:
那每天上床時間
該以他的表為準
還是以媽咪房間的時鐘為準呢
(“眉角”超多吧!)

媽咪只好說
如果有戴手錶就以手錶為準
如果沒戴手錶就以時鐘為準


後記:
Ethan是個超愛看鐘而且超守時的小孩
媽咪訂的上床時間是
如果隔天要上學
八點一到就要關電視、刷牙、上廁所
到房間準備睡覺 (睡前要做功課、讀故事書和練至少十分鐘的鋼琴)
如果隔天不用上學
就是九點

乖寶寶Ethan每天都是規定時間一到
就自動地準時開始一連串準備動作
從無需大人提醒
(做功課、讀故事書和練琴則要媽咪陪同)
有時晚了一分鐘
還會跟媽咪說: “Sorry, I was one minute late.”
搞的媽咪有時在上網
想晚一點上樓
都會一直被Ethan催促: “Hurry, it’s past my bedtime!”

Ethan第二quarter的成績單

今天Ethan發第二quarter的成績單

整體而言Ethan表現的仍是很優
數學、閱讀、音樂都拿了滿分四分
其餘的寫作、社會、科學、藝術、體育也得了次高分的三分

媽咪拿著成績單給Ethan看
告訴他媽咪爸爸都以他為傲

不過當他看到自已的體育得三分時
悻悻然的說
因為自己跳繩跳的很差
所以得不到四分….
媽咪趕緊安慰他
三分只差四分一點點
已經是很棒的了
他才稍稍釋懷

Ethan是完美主義的處女座
自我要求超嚴格真不是蓋的
Nate的太陽星座雖是雙魚
上升星座居然也是處女座
(上升星座影響的是人的外顯行為)

自認對課業一向要求極嚴格的媽咪
遇上這對處女座兄弟的超級自律
有時也自嘆不如…

“It’s ok to make mistakes; everybody makes mistakes”

變成現在要教給兩兄弟最重要的課題

一年級數學都過關
